On 28-29 July, Sainshand Salkhin Park (SSP) participated in the Naadam Festival in Dornogobi Province, embracing the occasion to engage with stakeholders and to strengthen links with local communities.
We welcomed visitors at our stand and answered their questions about the SSP project. The visitors also received gifts, such as SPP-branded mugs and shopping bags that were 100% locally produced in Sainshand.
SSP also sponsored the horse racing section for 7-year-olds (Ikh Nas), for a total amount of 11,000,000 MNT in prize money for the traditional game. The winners received their prizes from the Governor of Dornogobi province, Enkhtuvshin Tumurtogoo.
SSP Project director R. Davaanyam said: “We enjoyed being part of the Nadaam festival of the Dornogovi province. As the finish line of the Dornogobi Aimag Naadam horse race is next to project site, we decided to award the top 5 places of Ikh Nasan, the most anticipated horse race. The Ikh Nasan race is exceptional, because the horses are the strongest and fastest in the Mongol Naadam, and the race distance is the longest. The people of Dornogobi Aimag wished us successful implementation of the biggest wind farm project in Mongolia.”
Boosting the local economy is a priority of SSP’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme and we take every opportunity to contribute to local business directly or indirectly. O.Gantushaa was our local supplier for our promotional bags; she employed local women in the production process. She also visited us with her little boy during the festival and said: “I know these bags very well” with a smile.
